Stanley Cup Winners

The 2024 Stanley Cup playoffs kicked off earlier today. A couple weeks ago, an article that swooshed by my feed mentioned how many times the Montreal Canadiens had won the cup, so I got curious. The Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs won almost half of the Stanley Cups between 1918 and 1993 but no Canadian team has won the cup since. The chart below shows wins since the inauguration of the NHL so it's worth mentioning that some teams, like the Montreal and Toronto teams, have been competing for the cup longer than most.
